Futurama: Game of Drones not a resource management title like expected

Futurama: Game of Drones

Wooga's new Futurama video game has soft launched on Google Play in a few select countries, and it's not what the mobile gaming community was expecting. Futurama: Game of Drones is a twist on the match-3 puzzle genre where players must match 4 drones to keep them from exploding. Most gamers expected the game to be a resource management/building title like The Simpsons: Tapped Out. Developers seem to prefer freemium style building games with plenty of timers over premium games due to the money they can make with IAPs. For example, the last few mobile games based on popular prime time cartoons such as Family Guy have been of the free-to-play building variety. This is why it is so shocking that Wooga has decided to create a match-3 title instead of the standard freemium building game.
