Starting with iOS 10 the Photos app will group images of familiar faces together in the People folder. This is a cool and useful feature, but some iPhone and iPad users may not want certain people grouped together front-and-center on their device. For example, you may not want nude photos popping up when you search for your wife or husband, or you may want to hide other images for a variety of reasons. Whatever your reason, you can hide any photos in the People folder on your iPhone or iPad by following these steps:
- Open the Photos app on your device and navigate to the People folder.
- Tap Select.
- Tap the folder you want to hide.
- Tap Hide.
This will move the selected folder to the Hidden People section. You can hide this section by tapping the "Show Less" option, but you can still see that there is a Hidden People folder. The best way to hide photos is not to store them on your device. This technique only hides them from the People folder in the Photos app and search results.
If you want to hide an individual photo, locate the photo in the Photos app then tap the box with arrow icon at the bottom of your display. Tap the Hide option to remove the photo from the Moments, Collections and Years albums.
