Apple today has released its new, faster MacBook Pro with 15-inch display and Force Touch trackpad. The updated MacBook Pro with Retina display comes equipped with faster flash storage, longer battery life and faster discrete graphics. The flash storage is 2.5 times faster than its predecessor, and its discrete graphics deliver up to 80 percent faster performance when using "using new AMD Radeon R9 M370X graphics" and playing high quality games, according to the press release. The MacBook also offers up to 9 hours of wireless web browsing and movie playback.
The new MacBook Pro is available starting today through apple.com. The 15-inch 2.2GHz model with Retina display is available for $1,999. It is ships with a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 3.4 GHz, 16GB of memory, 256GB of flash storage and Intel Iris Pro graphics. The 2.5GHz model includes a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.7 GHz, 16GB of memory, 512GB of flash storage and AMD Radeon R9 M370X graphics. The 2.5GHz with Retina display version is available for $2,499.
The iMac with Retina 5K display boasts 67 percent more pixels than its predecessor. It is equipped with 3.3 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost Speeds up to 3.7 GHz and AMD Radeon R9 M290 graphics. It also ships with 8GB of memory and 1TB of storage starting at $1,999. Other features include four USB 3.0 ports and two Thunderbolt 2 ports.
The iMac with Retina 5K display is available now through apple.com or at Apple retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
