The ability to name group messages is a great iOS 8 addition. Now you can distinguish between various group texts quickly by just naming them after the subject, rather than trying to figure out by reading through them or looking at the people involved, who may overlap on other conversations anyway. Now you can simply name your conversations Camping Trip, Work - Project A, Work - Project B, Eagles Draft, etc. To name a conversation, tap the Details button in the top right corner. You won't see it immediately because you have to scroll up to see Group Name. Tap in the box and enter a name.
