Apple recently launched the iCloud Photo Library alongside its new Photos app. With it, you can have the photos from your iOS devices automatically upload to your iCloud account, where they can be shared with all of your devices. Additionally, you can have your original photos stored on your iCloud and have a smaller, optimized photo on your device in order to save space on your iPad.
To activate these features go to Settings -> iCloud -> Photos. Toggle on iCloud Photo Library. Once it is on, all of your photos will automatically upload. While you are here, you can turn on Optimize iPad Storage to keep the full resolution originals on your iCloud and optimized photos on your iPad.
