Version 5.0 of LinkedIn's iOS app has arrived, bringing full LinkedIn functionality to iPad screens for the first time. The app has been optimized for iPad retina display users in addition to adding universal support for older Apple tablets.
Other improvements to the app include a new calendar feature that lets you see LinkedIn profile information ahead of meetings. The updates view has been redesigned to make it easier to stay in touch with connections, view groups, see industry news and more.
There are three main areas in the LinkedIn app: You, Inbox and All Updates. The You section provides information on your network and shows who has viewed your profile. Inbox is where you can find messages and invites from others, or write new messages to a connection. All Updates is similar to Flipboard, providing an interesting way to look at your LinkedIn network and Groups.
Early write ups of LinkedIn's iPad interface are positive, with users saying the app was worth the wait. The iOS app is the first time a dedicated app for LinkedIn has appeared on any tablet.
LinkedIn can be found on the App Store for free.
