Walmart will begin selling the 16GB Wi-Fi iPad Air for $479 beginning on November 1. That's $20 less than buying it directly from Apple, who is selling the tablet for $499. This is not the first time Walmart has discounted a new Apple product, the retailer is currently offering the iPhone 5c for only $45 throughout the holiday season.
Walmart also announced its new in-store trade-in program where customers can receive up to $300 for their current tablet. However, as we've highlighted before you can normally get a lot more money by selling your used devices to electronics re-sellers like Nextworth and Gazelle.
iPad owners who are interested in trading in their used iPads can do so at their local Walmart or Sam’s Club starting at 9 a.m. local time today, Wednesday, Oct. 23. Your iPad must power on, be fully functional and be free of damage to qualify. The trade-in value for qualifying devices will then be applied to a new tablet of the owner's choice.
Walmart did not mention if they will also carry the other iPad Air model or the iPad mini 2.
